Collingwood concerned England team harmony might get affected with KP’s presence
London: Former England captain Paul Collingwood is confident the national team is capable enough to defend their Twenty20 World Cup, and believes Kevin Pietersen’s presence in the team might spark distress in the dressing room.
Collingwood, who guided the England team to a historic Twenty20 World Cup win in 2010, said Pietersen would certainly make the team stronger but he might not be good for team harmony.
“England are in very good shape. We would be a better team skill-wise with KP but would it be a happier team?” the Sun quoted Collingwood, as saying.
Pietersen’s chances of making the India Test tour are looking virtually zero, with the squad set to be announced this week.
Pietersen is refusing to quell his anger at the ‘KP Genius’ spoof twitter account that poked fun at him.
Even though the account is now closed, Pietersen has told the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Graeme Swann and James Anderson were involved.
