Jacques Kallis says retirement hasn’t even crossed his mind

Jacques Kallis says retirement hasn’t even crossed his mindJohannesburg: South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis, who scored an impressive 147 to help South Africa to a first innings total of 450 against Australia in the first test match at the Gabba, has said retirement is not in his mind right now.

With 12 788 runs, 280 wickets and the third highest number of catches (189) taken by a player in the longer form of the game, Kallis’ status as one of the greatest all-rounders of all time is secure.

Kallis has not shown any signs of contemplating the end of a Test career that began back in December 1995.

“I`m happy with the way I played. It was tough this morning. I thought Oz bowled really well and got the ball into good areas,” Kallis was quoted as saying in an interview.

“I think I`ve been playing pretty well for the last couple of years. I feel I`ve been getting into good positions. Hopefully I can carry on that, and you need a little bit of luck to go with that as well. Long may that continue,” he added.
