Shane Watson and Michael Clarke have added 33 runs for the fourth wicket. Australia are in total command of the proceedings as they trail by 6 runs with 7 wickets in hand. ==================================================================================== Over 24|| Score 117/3
And the Aussies are now three wickets down! Earlier as a result of a big confusion, Hughes was run out for just 10 and then in the next over Cowan played a loose shot and was caught by Jayawardene at second slip. ==================================================================================== Over 18 || Score 95/1
Sri Lanka finally get the first breakthrough as Warner pulls a short ball from Mathews and is caught at deep square leg. Warner is out after scoring 62 runs. ==================================================================================== Over 12 || Score 73/0
David Warner and Ed Cowan are playing as if they are chasing a total in ODIs. Warner just launched Welegedara for a massive Six over deep midwicket to a fuller length ball. Warner followed the six with a single that brought his half-century off just 34 balls. None of the Lankan bowlers have managed to trouble these two left-handers so far. ==================================================================================== Over 43.4 || Score 156/10
Nathan Lyon struck twice in the 44th over as the Lankan innings wrapped up for 156 runs. While it has been an excellent effort from all the bowlers, Mitchell Johnson needs a special mention for his 4-wicket haul, which included those two unplayable deliveries. The Aussies were terrific on the field, as Hussey and Wade took two fantastic catches adding to the woes of the hosts. ==================================================================================== Over 41 || Score 150/8
Mitchell Johnson is spitting fire at the MCG as Sri Lanka have lost their 8 wickets for just 150 runs. The last to be dismissed was Kumar Sangakkara who got a top edge and Wade ran backwards to take an excellent catch. That wicket also brought 200 Test wickets for Mitchell Johnson! Johnson is just one wicket away from completing his 5-wicket haul. ==================================================================================== Over 31 || Score 99/5
Samaraweera (10) was dismissed by Bird just after lunch when he tried to pull a short ball and was caught at short midwicket by Warner. Siddle then got rid of Angelo Mathews (15) who nicked one to the slip cordon and Michael Hussey took a brilliant catch that could have whistled past an ordinary fielder. The Lankans are struggling after losing half of their team with not even 100 on board! ==================================================================================== Over 25 || Score 79/3
The Australians fast bowlers were right on the money as Siddle, Johnson and Bird picked one wicket each.
Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. They got off to a bad start as Karunaratne, Dilshan and Mahela were back to the pavilion with just 37 runs on the board. But after that, Kumar Sangakkara and Samaraweera added 42 runs for the second wicket and at lunch Sri Lanka were 79/3. Kumar Sangakkara reached another milestone as he brought up 10000 runs in Tests.
