New Delhi: While Rio Olympics 2016 has already witnessed some of the most horrific moments in the history of the prestigious event, when one thinks of such tragedies, another one from Beijing Olympics 2008 comes to mind.
Hungarian weightlifter Janos Baranyai was seen in huge pain after he dropped a massive weight of 148 kgs on his shoulders.
Baranyai's right elbow popped out of its socket as he was attempting to lift 148 kilograms (326.3 pounds) in the men's 77-kilogram (169.76 pounds) division at the 2008 Games,
The incident led to tearing in Baranyai's ligaments and muscle.
His elbow was reset by doctors in China without any surgery and Baranyai also spent three weeks in the hospital doing rehabilitation work after returning to Hungary.
