Narsingh Yadav dope scandal: Grappler fails second test, Rio Olympics dream all but over

New Delhi: In what is a fresh blow to Narsingh Yadav's dream of representing India at Rio Olympics, the 74-kg grappler has failed yet another doping test.

According to the test which was conducted on July 5, Narsingh has been found guilty of consuming the same anabolic steroid metadienone.

Narsingh has alleged that on June 5, someone tried to tamper with his food in a camp in Sonipat. Shockingly, there was no complaint lodged by Narsingh about the incident then. It was only after he failed the first doping test that he broke the news.

However, reports suggest that his supplements have come out clean.

The National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) disciplinary panel hearing today will reveal if Narsingh can represent India in the Olympic Games starting in Rio on August 5.

The Wrestling Federation of India on Tuesday named Praveen Rana as Narsingh's replacement in the 74kg category of wrestling for Rio Olympics.
