Rio de Janeiro: The Court of Arbitration for Sport on Wednesday dismissed an appeal to allow eight banned Russian weightlifters compete in the Rio Games just 48 hours before the Games begin.
The Russian Weightlifting Federation had sought the help of sport`s top court to overturn its suspension from the International Weightlifting Federation last week.
The sport`s governing body banned the Russian federation over widespread state-run doping in Russia.
