Rajkot: Saurashtra will face Assam in what will be a battle to avoid relegation for both teams in their final group A Elite division match here from Wednesday.
The hosts have just five points and are in a must-win situation to stay in the elite division, while Assam, having logged eight points, need just a point to retain their place.
Saurashtra`s batting would revolve around the seasoned Sitanshu Kotak, Sagar Jogiyani, Jaidev Shah and Rahul Dave, while their bowling, which has been wayward and unimpressive throughout this season, would be spearheaded by Balkrishna Jadeja and Jayesh Odedara, with Saurya Sandaliya and Kamlesh Makwana handling the spin department.
Meanwhile, the Amol Mazumdar-led Assam, who are in a much better position as compared to the hosts, should be happy with a draw.
Mazumdar and veteran Sridharan Sriram would be the mainstay for the visitors, while Dhiraj Jadhav and Gokul Sharma too are in good form.
