Kolkata: A few of the visiting England cricketers today visited the Mother House here, while star batsman Kevin Pietersen along with two other teammates enjoyed a boat ride on the Ganges.
The Englismen, who were dealt a 0-5 drubbing by India in the just-concluded ODI series, also engaged themselves in a bit of philanthropy, by playing football with underprivileged children of a school run by an NGO. Pietersen, who missed the last ODI because of a broken thumb, meanwhile, enjoyed every bit of his boat ride on the river Ganges. "On a boat trip on the River Ganges..We are so lucky doing the things we do," Pietersen tweeted and posted a photo of himself on the boat. Middle-order batsman Jonny Bairstow, who accompanied Pietersen on the ride tweeted: "Very nice boat trip on the Ganges river this afternoon! Few dolphins kicking around too." Bairstow made his Ganges ride photo as his profile pic as he was seen flanked by the bodyguards. Medium pacer Stuart Meaker, who too was in the boat ride tweeted, "Lovely scene. The hospitality of everyone here is amazing." England, the reigning Twenty20 world champions, face India in a one-off Twenty20 match at the Eden Gardens here on October 29 before returning home. PTI
