London: Centre-back Rio Ferdinand helped a bride to record a surprise video message for her to play for her Manchester United fanatic groom during the speeches.
The former United accepted a plea by Clara Maybin and recorded a surprise video message for her husband Ryan. Ferdinand, who has three kids with wife Rebecca, told the stunned groom that marriage is a beautiful experience and warned him to treat Clara well, otherwise he would be able to find him, The Mirror reported. Clara got the idea of contacting the former England stalwart while compiling a fun slideshow charting her relationship with Ryan. Clara said that as she was putting it together she realised something else was also extremely important in their relationship that is football, especially Manchester United. Clara, a marketing assistant, said that she thought about posting it to Ferdinand`s agent as her husband has always idolised the centre-back because he is a good footballer and is down to earth as well. She was hoping that she might get a memento but almost passed out with surprise when the footballer`s agent phoned her three months later and told her that although they were sent so much stuff, Ferdinand adored her presentation and was going to organise something. Clara said that she was over the moon when she got the video, adding that Ferdinand made their day. Ryan, an administrator, said that he was staggered when Ferdinand appeared on a screen talking directly to him. The Queens Park Rangers player wished the couple a wonderful life together, adding that with a girl like Clara, it`s a given.
