Kris not scared of being sued by Kim’s publicist over ‘gay’ remark

New York: Kris Humphries is not afraid of legal threats from his estranged wife Kim Kardashian’s friend and publicist Jonathan Cheban.

According to a source close to the NBA star, Humphries does not expect the high-profile publicist to make good on his threats because he does not have sufficient legal grounds to sue him. Cheban was considering filing a 5-million-dollar defamation suit against Humphries earlier this month for calling him “gay” in an episode of ‘Kourtney and Kim Take New York’. “The bottom line is Jonathan is not gay,” the New York daily News quoted Cheban’s friend as telling Radar Online. A source said that Humphries doubts the suit will ever materialize because the basketball player was told to make the remark on the “scripted” reality show. “There’s nothing he can sue him for other than following directions from the show’s producers,” the source said. The source also noted that Cheban, who is one of Kim Kardashian’s BFFs, has not threatened the show’s producers with a similar suit. Humphries was friendly with Cheban too, before Kardashian filed for divorce on Oct 31 just after their 72 days of marriage. ANI
