Manjrekar makes debut on twitter

Former India Test cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has joined the growing list of celebrities on social networking site Twitter.

Manjrekar, the former Mumbai skipper and now a noted celebrated commentator, will be available as – twitter@sanjaymanjrekar.

In his welcome message, he twitted: “Hi guys, those who like to play with a straight bat please join me on twitter. We keep cricketing issues simple and straight here.”

Manjrekar has played 37 Tests for India between 1987-88 and 1996-97, averaging 37.14. He made his Test debut against West Indies in 1987 at Delhi and played his last Test in 1996 against South Africa at Ahmadabad.

Manjrekar’s best performances were against Pakistan, against whom he had a Test average of 94 and two Test centuries. He made his double-century against Pakistan in Lahore.

He also featured in 74 One-day internationals, averaging 33.23 with a highest score of 105.
