Michael Jackson’s fans want that the late King of Pop’s O2 arena shows be replaced with tribute concerts.

London, June 28: Michael Jackson’s fans want that the late King of Pop’s O2 arena shows be replaced with tribute concerts.Organisers at AEG Live have been swamped with emails and calls from hundreds of the 750,000 ticket holders, demanding that commemoration events be held in place of next month’s sold-out 50-date This Is It tour.
“I really hope all the other artists come together for such an amazing show and help Michael finish his journey and send him off the way he would’ve wanted to be remembered,” the Daily Express quoted Fan Jahan As as saying on Facebook yesterday. “I also believe the fans who were meant to attend his concerts will finally say their goodbyes,” Fan Jahan added. The newspaper report also talks about rumours that Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, and Lily Allen have been approached to headline a memorial concert. It further said that there were suggestions that screen icon Elizabeth Taylor, one of Jackson’s closest friends, could take part. A spokesperson at AEG Live has confirmed receiving requests for tribute concerts, but could not say whether they were being organised. Meanwhile AEG bosses have to refund 51million pounds to ticketholders. They have admitted struggling to secure insurance beyond the first 10 planned shows. A spokesman said: “Full ticket refund information will be released early next week.” Fans who bought tickets via eBay and PayPal have been told that they would receive refunds. Retailer Seatwave and ticket exchange site viagogo also said that they would refund ticketholders. ANI
