Tendulkar releases Marathi book on cricket

Mumbai: Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar released the Marathi book `Chala Cricket Shikuya` (`Let`s learn cricket), written by senior sports journalist Subodh Mayure here last week.

"Learning is a continuous process. You have to practice continuously to perform consistency," Tendulkar said on the occasion.

Former cricketer Lalchand Rajput, who too was present on the occasion said that the book, published by Pune-based Rajhans Prakashan, was not only useful for the players but for coaches as well.

"The book should be carried with the cricket gear in the kit as it can be used as a guide as and when the need arises," he added.

Commenting on the book, ex India skipper Ajit Wadekar said the book will not only help aspiring cricketers to learn the techniques of the game but will also prepare them mentally for the challenges ahead.

Mayure has completed an Level-I MCA coaching course, under Balwinder Singh Sandhu. He was also part of the Under-16 and Under-19 Maharashtra cricket teams for the Vinoo Mankad and C K Nayudu tournaments.
