Sydney: Legendary leg spinner Shane Warne is in line to appear in the sequel of popular Australian mini-series about Kerry Packer and World Series Cricket, Howzat!
Howzat producer John Edwards claimed there have been talks between Channel Nine and Warne about the proposed sequel.
Howzat won over two million viewers last Sunday and Channel Nine is keen to repeat the formula with the addition of Warne.
“(Nine CEO) David Gyngell did mention it (a Shane Warne sequel to Howzat) to me on Monday morning,”
“I believe he (Warne) spoke to Gyng,”
“The mini-series has been ratings gold because it is one of the few shows this year to have an equal split of male and female viewers.
Channel Nine spokeswoman Victoria Buchan said: “Of course we would love to find the right thing to follow up from Howzat!”
Earlier this week, Warne hinted that he is open to a TV version of his life.
“I’ve already had a stage play by Eddie Perfect which was wonderful,” Warne said.
“Whether I’m doing a Howzat! thing - I’m not sure yet,”
