Melbourne: Shane Warne swapped a cricket ball for a footie match at the Etihad Stadium.

The 42-year-old former cricketer joined former players including Aaron Hamill, Max Hudghton, Andrew Thompson, Brett Voss, Jayson Daniels and Russell Morris for the St Kilda’s Legends Match.

The legendary spin bowler tweeted the night before the game that he was heading to bed early to be ready for the big match.

“Big game early night... Boom !!!!!!!!” News.com.au quoted him as tweeting.

The game went for 30 minutes before the Saints clashed with GWS Giants.

Warne’s fiancee, Elizabeth Hurley, was also present and watched the game with his children.

Warne impressed the crowd when he flew high for a speccie and also snapped truly to post a goal for his team before finishing with four goals for the fun game.
