India's badminton queen Saina Nehwal regained No. 1 spot in world rankings on Thursday.

New Delhi: India's badminton queen Saina Nehwal regained No. 1 spot in world rankings on Thursday.
Saina overtook Spanish sensation Carolina Marin despite losing to her recently in the final of the badminton World Championships.

Saina has a total of 82,792 points and leads Marin who has a total of 80,612. PV Sindhu was on 14th position.

Meanwhile, in the men's section, China's Chen Long holds the numero uno spot in the world rankings. Denmark's Jan O. Jorgensen follows suit.
India's Kidambi Srikanth is on fourth place, whereas Commonwealth Games winner Parupalli Kashyap saw himself rise two places to number eight in the rankings.

Meanwhile Indian women's duo of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa entered the top 10 world rankings in doubles section. Jwala-Ponappa moved to No. 10 from 12th position. They lost in the quarters of the badminton World Championships last week.
