Swann says can `hardly believe` being part of potential record-breaking England squad
Sydney: England off-spinner Graeme Swann has said that he needs to pinch himself sometimes to make sure that he is playing in a squad hoping to make history by claiming a fourth straight Ashes triumph this winter after growing up in an era of almost routine humiliations.

England will head to Australia in November in the midst of a grip on the famous trophy that has never been so emphatic after wrapping up a relatively straightforward 3-0 series victory over their arch-rivals at The Oval in August.

According to News.com.au, Swann said that he can hardly believe that he is a part of a squad hoping to win a fourth consecutive Ashes series, adding that Australia seemed almost invincible when he was growing up.

Swann further said that even though the team had good players, they never aspired to win the Ashes let along sweep three consecutive series as they resolved themselves that they were either going to lose 3-0 or 4-1 against Australia when the Ashes came round.

However, Swann insisted that the weight of a potential record-breaking achievement would not prove a burden, saying that the important thing for them is go and win series and hopefully rewrite history .
