New Delhi: Considered one of the most flamboyant and an all-time great tennis player, Andre Agassi said on Wednesday that the game used the language of life.

Agassi posted the following observations on the micro-blogging site Twitter: “Tennis uses the language of life. Advantage, service, fault, break, love, the basic elements of tennis are of everyday existence.”

An American, Andre was a former World No. 1 and was around on the circuit from the early 1990s to the mid-2000s.

He has been hailed by experts as one of the best service returner in the history of the game.

In singles, Agassi is an eight-time Grand Slam champion and a 1996 Olympic gold medalist.

He also finished runner-up in seven other Grand Slam tournaments and is one of the four male singles players to achieve the Career Grand Slam (all four Grand Slam championships in the same year) in the Open Era and one of seven in history of the game.

At the same time Agassi is the first of two to achieve the Career Golden Slam, that is, a Career Grand Slam and an Olympic gold medal in the same year.

He is the founder of the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation and has been married to another legendary tennis player Steffi Graf since 2001.
