Melbourne: Andy Murray comfortably overcame his opponent to advance to the third round of Australian Open on Thursday.
Murray defeated Joao Sousa of Portugal 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 to move to the third round.
Murray ended a 76-year drought by British men in Grand Slam tournaments by winning the 2012 US Open beating Novak Djokovic in the final.
The third-seeded Scot is in search for his first Australian Open title.
"You need to be the one that`s trying to dictate the points in these conditions,`` Murray commented on the sweltering conditions.
