Melbourne: Juan Martin del Potro plays wonderful tennis. His serve is powerful and he gives all top seeds a run for their money- but just a run! This year, at Australian Open he was seeded five, and was being touted as the one who could cause upsets. In last five grand slams, he has been ousted after playing gruelling five-setters. In the year`s first grand slam, he is out again after a marathon five-set match. The hard hitting Argentine lost the match to Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut 4-6 6-3 5-7 6-4 7-5. When del Potro clinched his first and only major title in 2009, defeating Nadal in the semifinal and Federer in the final he became the first man to defeat both of them in the same grand slam tournament. He also became the only player other than Big Four to have won a men`s grand slam singles title since 2006. He was touted as next big thing in tennis, but soon after in 2010, he was out of most of tournaments due to wrist injury. Undoubtedly an extremely talented player, luck seems a hard nut to crack for Delpo. 2014 Australian Open Bautista Agut 4-6 6-3 5-7 6-4 7-5 Results of Juan Martin del Potro’ s 2013 grand slam outings: 2013 US Open L Hewitt 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-7 (2-7), 1-6 2013 Wimbledon Novak Djokovic 7-5, 4-6, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 2013 Australian Open Jeremy Chardy: 3-6, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, 3-6 2013 Roland Garros : DNP
