Melbourne: At a time when match-fixing allegations have rocked the tennis fraternity, Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga gave fans something to cheer about on Day 3 of the ongoing Australian Open with a brilliant on court gesture.

During his second round match, Tsonga won the hearts of thousands of spectators as he rushed to the aid of a ball girl, who was hit in the face by a ball during his match against Australian teenager Omar Jasika.

Tsonga saw the girl was in pain and immediately called for medical attention.
