French Open 2012: Federer through to second round of French Open

Paris: Roger Federer equaled Jimmy Connors’ record of 233 Grand Slam victories dispatching Tobias Kamke of Germany 6-2, 7-5, 6-3 in the first round of French Open 2012 on Monday.
The number 3 seed finished the match in under two hours hitting 38 winners as opposed to his opponents 16.
Initially, Federer looked a bit rusty and ended with a higher unforced error tally of 47 as compared to Kamke’s 31, but the former World No.1 notched up 7 aces.
