Paris: Bethanie Mattek-Sands came from a set down to beat former champion Li Na in the second round of the French Open on Thursday.
The American won 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the third round.
The rain interrupted the match but failed to dampen the spirits of the world No. 67.
"She`s a champion, and I had to play some of my best tennis ever to beat her. I`m really proud of myself that I was able to close out the match the way I did," Mattek-Sands said after the match.
