New Delhi: Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza, who has won three Grand Slams in a row with Swiss legend Martina Hingis, said that the amazing hand-eye coordination of Indian players was behind their success in doubles.

India have been successful in the doubles format in world tennis with the likes of Mahesh Bhupathi, Leander Paes and Sania Mirza.

The Hyderabadi tennis player said that the hand-eye coordination is amazing and that works a lot in doubles.

"In India and part of the sub-continent, the hand-eye coordination is amazing and that works a lot in doubles for us," she said.

She also said with the level of tennis being played and the increasing level of fitness, India would hopefully catch up soon with other countries in the world.

The Sania and Hingis pair would next hope to maintain their winning streak at the French Open in May.

Sania said French Open is the toughest Slam and that they have to fight it through.

"After winning three grand slams, French Open is probably the toughest slam and the toughest surface and we have to go a long way. Any how we have to fight it through," she said.
