John Isner through to Cincinnati Open second round

Washington: Local favourite John Isner breezed past Kevin Anderson 6-3, 6-4 to open his Western & Southern Open campaign.

The two had met nine times before Monday and eight of them had at least one tie-breaker. However, Isner put in a dominating performance and cruised into the next round with a straight sets win, reports Xinhua. Isner, the highest-ranked US male player, was the runner-up in last year`s tournament.
