Junior AITA Super Series to begin on Monday

Budding tennis players of the country will be seen in action in the 11th edition of the Sunfeast Junior AITA Super Series to be held at the South Club clay courts from January 16-21.

Kolkata: Budding tennis players of the country will be seen in action in the 11th edition of the Sunfeast Junior AITA Super Series to be held at the South Club clay courts from January 16-21.
The tournament that gives a platform to the upcoming tennis talents will be held in the under-14 and under-16 age groups in both the boys and girls sections. There will be about 400 entries from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi and other states, said organiser and noted coach Akhtar Ali. Singles winner will get 35 points while 25 points will be awarded to the runner-up. The boys U-16 section will see promising players like Sachin Kumar, Vushu Prasad, Tejas Kapoor, while Richie Agarwal and Yuvraj Bains will be the local challengers. In the girls U-16 section, Rashmitha Pasula Reddy, Akshara Iska, Bhavya Wadhawan, Kavita Mishra and Prabhuti Singhania promise to be the ones to watch out for. India number four B R Nikshep, Udayan Bhakar, Ishaque Eqbal, local boy Nitin Sinha are the prominent entries in the U-14 which will have 11-year-old Vikash Singh as the youngest competitor of the meet. Sruta Gunaganti, Akshara Iska and Snehal Mane would make it a fierce contest in the girls u-14 section. PTI
