New Delhi: While Mahesh Bhupathi slammed the All Indian Tennis Association (AITA) for pairing him with Leander Paes for London Olympics, the latter has said that he is ready to play with anybody who is sent with him as a partner for the prestigious games.
"I have always maintained that I will play with whoever the selection committee and AITA choose and this continues to be my stand," Paes said in a statement late on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a baffled Bhupathi called Paes ‘a backstabber’ a couple of days ago and expressed his displeasure once the AITA announced it would send only one team for men’s doubles.
Bhupathi and Paes were a force to reckon with in later 90’s when they won three Grand Slam titles.
The All India Tennis Association on Saturday said it will not rethink their selection for the London Olympics despite Bhupathi categorically rejecting his pairing with Paes.
