Bangalore: Francis Roig, who is part of world number one Rafael Nadal`s coaching staff, has postponed his trip to the city of Bangalore for a tennis clinic due to health issues.
"Recently, Roig underwent a surgery and has been advised against travel, and as such, we have been forced to re-schedule his trip," Bulldog Sportz Director Ronnie Seghal, who has invited the Spaniard for the clinic said.
"We will bring him here in October, probably during Dussera," Seghal added.
Roig, who is also the director of the famed Spanish training centre - Barcelona Total Tennis, was scheduled to conduct a three-day clinic for coaches and players here this month.
Roig has trained top-class international players including Alberto Costa, Alex Corretja, Feliciano L?pez, Fernando Verdasco, Marcel Granollers, Tommy Robredo, Teimuraz Gabashvili and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
He is the Founder and Technical Director of Barcelona Total Tennis (BTT), Spain and was coach of Spanish Davis Cup team, guiding them to Davis Cup title triumph in 2009.
The tennis programme envisages on-court sessions spread across three days. In the evening, a seminar will held by Roig where he would share his personal experience as coach of world No.1 and other Top 100 players, coach and parent mindset and thumb rules, Seghal said.
