New Delhi: Indian Grand Slam queen Sania Mirza has continued to dominate the women's doubles section in tennis and at the moment her association with Martina Hingis has continued to blossom.
A successful year in 2015 saw Mirza pocket Wimbledon and US Open Grand Slams with partner Hingis, and the duo saw themselves being ranked No. 1 in the world.
2016 has continued in the same vein for the pair just as where 2015 had left. After pocketing the 2016 Brisbane International, the world's best duo at the moment are eyeing another trophy in Sydney. This comes as a major boost for the tennis duo with the year's first Slam, Australian Open, starting next week.
The understanding of each other's game is a big plus for the Indo-Swiss pair who looks happy and positive as partners. Their joyous ride on the court has paid dividends as at the moment it looks difficult for any other pair to beat them.
The Indian queen has won 28 matches on the trot alongside Hingis and would want to keep her run going. Hingis' experience and class has helped Sania a lot in aspects regarding her game and mental strength.
Last year Sania had credited Hingis for her success and had also stated that the duo compliment each other very well.
If the pair win the Australian Open, this will be their third Grand Slam on the trot.
Sania has taken Indian tennis by storm and has followed the footsteps of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi by winning big in the tennis circuit. This win will motivate many upcoming tennis players in India.
