Rome: Defending champions Maria Sharapova downed Angelique Kerber 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday to reach the final of the Rome Masters.
The world no two Russian will meet Li Na of China after the latter got a walkover post Serena Williams’ withdrawal from the tournament due to sore back.
"There`s one more to go," Sharapova told a news conference. "I`m extremely happy with the way I`ve progressed in this tournament. I started off a little slow but I`ve had a number of tough matches and I`ve continued to improve," Sharapova said after the match.
