Somdev crashes out of Japan Open

Tokyo: India`s Somdev Devvarman crashed out of the men`s singles first round of 1,214,500 dollars Japan Open Tennis Championships with a 4-6, 3-6 loss to seventh-seeded Czech Radek Stepanek.

The Indian`s serve was broken four times during the one-hour-and-32-minute clash.

India`s Rohan Bopanna and his Pakistani partner Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi are top seeded in the doubles and they open against Brazilian pair of Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares.
