Aurangabad: Turkish teenager Aantekin Seda on Tuesday shocked sixth seed Nungnindda Wannasuk of Thailand 6-2 6-4 to enter the second round of the Endurance-MSLTA USD 10000 ITF women`s tennis championships.
In other matches of the day, top seed Dalila Jakupovic of Slovenia outplayed Sharon Sanchana Paul of India 6-2 6-1, while second-seeded Thai girl Peangtarn Plipuech thrashed India`s Ashvarya Shrivastava 6-1 6-1.
Fifth-seeded Slovenian Anja Prislan stopped wild card Ankita Raina, of India, 6-3 6-2 to move up to round two.
To bring some cheers on an otherwise dismal day for the host country, Ankita Raina and Prarthana Thombare entered the quarterfinals of the doubles. The Indian pair got the better of Chinese pair of Sirui He and Zi Yang 6-0 6-7(7) 10-7 in the first round.
