New Delhi: Leander Paes and Martina Hingis on Saturday became the first pair to win Grand Slam mixed titles in a single year for the first time since 1969.
The last pair to achieve this feat was that of Margaret Court and Marty Riessen.
The Indo-Swiss pair beat Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Sam Querrey in an absorbing US Open final.
The Paes and Hingis won the final 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 to seal their third major after winning the Australian Open and Wimbledon earlier in 2015.
