London: Former tennis champ John McEnroe says he will be back Swiss ace Roger Federer to win the Wimbledon 2012.
“I’m picking Federer to win. It’s his best chance of another major,” a daily quoted McEnroe, as saying.
McEnroe believes the gap between British No.1 Andy Murray and the big three, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer is widening, and claims that it will most likely be Tomas Berdych or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who would break the top trio’s grip on the coveted tennis title.
“He [Andy Murray] is the same age as Djokovic and a year younger than Nadal. Look what they’ve already achieved. But he is up against three of the greatest of all time. And two others have a better chance of breaking through, Berdych and Tsonga,” the former world no.1 said.
