Wimbledon 2012: Andy Murray storms past Ferrer in a thriller

Wimbledon: It’s done and dusted. What a spectacular comeback by Andy Murray. He was down one set and trailing in the second one after which he proved why he is one of the best tennis players in the world. Murray will now face Tsonga in the semis.

Final Score: Andy Murray won 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, 7-6 against David Ferrer.

Six-time Wimbledon winner Roger Federer stormed into the semis of the prestigious grand slam as he knocked out Mikhail Youzhny 6-1, 6-2, 6-2.

Just to remind all of you, in case if the Swiss champ wins his seventh Wimbledon title, he will equal Sampras who has also bagged the same number of titles.

World No.1 and defending champion Novak Djokovic defeated Florian Mayer of Germany in straight sets 6-4, 6-1, 6-4. This means that we are all set for a Djokovic vs Federer semi-final clash!

Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga reached his second successive Wimbledon semi-final with a 7-6 4-6 7-6 6-2 win over Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany. Tsonga will lock horns with Andy Murray in the semis.

After trailing by one set, Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga rose to the occasion to defeat Mardy Fish 4-6, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Meanwhile amid the ongoing controversy in men’s tennis, the Indian challenge was all over at the Wimbledon as Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek and the pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna suffered defeats in their respective matches.

Andy Murray finally made it to the top 8 as he defeated Marin Cilic 7-5, 6-2, 6-3. It is his fifth straight Wimbledon quarter-final.
