Wimbledon: Andy Murray won 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, 7-6 against David Ferrer in a thrilling match to book his berth for the semi-final against Tsonga.
Here is how the thrilling four-setter panned out:
It’s done and dusted by Murray! What a spectacular comeback by Andy Murray. He was down one set and was trailing in the second one after which he proved why he is one of the best tennis players around the world. Murray will now face Tsonga in the semis.
MATCH SCORE: Andy Murray won 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, 7-6 against David Ferrer.
Murray once slipped on the ground which was a very embarrassing moment for him. But he got up and then rose to the occasion to break Ferrer’s serve in the ninth game to take his lead to 5-4 and then he held on his serve to win the third set. The crowd has once again applauded his moment and undoubtedly Murray has more fans cheering for him at the Centre Court.
THIRD SET: Murray wins it 6-4
Ferrer was up against Murray 5-4 before Murray equalized the scores and then went on to win the next game and lead 6-5. . But Ferrer who is 5 years older to Murray refused to give up and equalized the score to take the match to a tie-breaker. Ferrer was leading 5-2 in the tie-breaker and Murray won the next point, then hit an ace to reduce lead to 4-5. In an amazing rally for the next game, both the players matched each other shot by shot before Ferrer’s shot hit the nets to equalize scores. Ferrer off his own service won the next game as Murray’s shot landed wide. Murray won the next point with a powerful forehand to again equalize scores 6-6. Murray won a point of his own service to take the score to 7-6. In the next game, both the players once again played a brilliant rally and this time Murray had the last laugh.
SECOND SET: Murray wins it 7-6
The first set lasted for more than an hour and both the players displayed some of the best tennis we have seen in this Wimbledon so far. Ferrer was leading 4-1 in the first set and then it was Murray who bounced back and took the set to a tie-breaker where Ferrer had the last laugh. This match can be another intriguing five-setter. GAME ON HERE!
