How Murray solved mystery of his missing name on Wimbledon trophyLondon: New Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray has said that he was surprised when he thought his name on the Championship trophy was missing, only to find that it was there on the base.
According to The Sun, Murray confirmed that his name was there on the trophy he had at home but there was a moment when he did not understand what was going on. The Scot player also said that it was an incredible feeling to hold the unique, historic trophy on Centre Court and admitted he could have been missing entirely from the list of winners if he had lost the tense last game.

The report said that the All England Club had found that there was no room to engrave winners`` names on trophies a few years ago and therefore, a black plinth with a silver band was made so that champions from 2009 onwards could be acknowledged.
