World No. 1 Novak Djokovic stormed past his opponent Jeremy Chardy to advance into the fourth round at Wimbledon. Djokovic who is the favourite to win the tournament, played some stupendous strokes to topple Chardy in straight sets - 6-3 6-2 6-2.
Laura Robson kept the hopes alive for the British fans as she bounced back to defeat Marina Erakovic 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 and advanced into the fourth round at Wimbledon on Saturday. The last time a man and woman from Britain moved to the fourth round was in 1998, when Sam Smith and Tim Henman moved to the second week.
Meanwhile, Tomas Berdych, the seventh seed from the Czech Republic, defeated Kevin Anderson of South Africa, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.
Eighth seed Petra Kvitova advanced to the fourth round after she defeated Ekaterina Makarova 6-3 2-6 6-3.
It was a good day at Wimbledon for Indian tennis players as Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna all moved into the third round of men`s doubles with their respective partners.
