London: Sabine Lisicki, last year`s beaten finalist, shrugged off a shoulder injury to book her place in the Wimbledon last eight with a hard-fought victory Tuesday over Yaroslava Shvedova.
The German 19th seed defeated the Kazakh world number 65 in three sets, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in just under two hours on Court Three.
Lisicki has now reached the quarter-finals in all of her last five Wimbledon outings.
She faces third seed Simona Halep on Wednesday for a place in the semis.
The 24-year-old had a medical time out at 1-1 in the final set, with the trainer working on her right shoulder after a painful serve.
She had a further massage at 4-3 up and the work seemed to do the trick as Lisicki broke to leave her serving for the match at 5-3.
Shvedova broke straight back to stay in the match but the German then fashioned three match points and eventually sealed the 56-minute set.
