New Delhi: Martina Hingis topped Wimbledon outing by garnering immense success from her intense partnership with Indian duo Sania Mirza and Leander Paes. Hingis won two Wimbledon titles after bagging both the women's doubles and mixed-doubles honours.
The Swiss ace has found her flair on the tennis court after deciding to play alongside Leander Paes with whom she won the Australian Open this year. By teaming up with Sania Mirza for the women's doubles, Hingis saw herself atop in the WTA world rankings this year.
The mixed doubles title win with Leander after her victory with Sania on Saturday helped her to clinch a third Grand Slam title this year. This was Hingis' first mixed doubles title at the Wimbledon and her 18th overall including singles.
Hingis who took tennis world by storm in 1997 in becoming the undisputed World No. 1 is seeming to enjoy her game once again after making two retirements in between. At the age of 34, Hingis is having fun at the tennis court and has shown the world why she still has a lot to offer in this sport. Once being a teen sensation that saw her rise like a phoenix, injuries prompted to stall her career and stop her from conquering the world.
But 2015 is proving to be great for Hingis whose application and understanding with both Leander and Sania has seen her back amongst winning titles. Hingis will hope her association with the duo continues as she will now eye to clinch the US Open which starts next month. Hingis' love-affair with India is bringing her a lot of charm.
