Yuki injures ankle, concedes match against Rastogi

New Delhi: The much-anticipated Yuki
Bhambri-Karan Rastogi match in the ITF Futures event ended in
defeat of the Delhi teenager, who sprained his ankle and
conceded the quarter-final contest here today.

Second seed Yuki was making good progress in the second
set after losing the first but after creating a 3-0 lead he
injured his right ankle and decided against continuing.

Seventh seed Rastogi, who had won the first set 6-3, will
now fight it out with China`s Yu Chang for his second
successive appearance in the final.

Chang recorded a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 win over
Chinese Taipei`s Liang-Chi Huang.

In a good result for the home fans, third seed Ranjeet
Virali-Murugesan sealed a semifinal berth with a 6-3, 7-5 win
over Thai K Wachiramanowong.

Ranjeet will face top seed and South African Davis Cupper
Rik de Voest, who made short work of last week`s champion in
Kolkata Murad Inoyatov 6-0, 6-1 in another quarter-final match.
