Imphal: All arrangements have been completed for the re-poll in five hill districts of Manipur tomorrow with security and polling personnel reaching at the 34 polling stations, election office sources said on Friday.

About 28,076 voters would exercise their franchise at 34 polling stations in the hill districts of Ukhrul Churachandpur,Tamenglong, Senapati and Chandel.

The re-poll was necessary due to malfunctioning of electronic voting machines and irregularities found during the assembly elections on January 28 last, the sources said.

The re-poll would be held between 7 am to 3 pm and electronic machines from interior parts of the hill areas would be brought to the district headquarters by helicopter.

Counting of votes for the assembly elections would be held on March 6 next, the sources said.
