Imphal: A senior member of the Manipur unit of Trinamool Congress Wednesday said he would approach the party's central leadership for what he termed 'irregular functioning' of state's party chief Kim Gangte, a former MP.

Speaking to mediapersons here, K Rabei, an executive member of the party, said he was seeking to contest the election under the party ticket from Wangoi assembly constituency in Imphal West district in the January 28 Manipur assembly elections.

He said he has been an active member of the party since its formation in the state but the party's state unit president, Gangte has ignored his name and was trying to give the ticket to a new entrant, O Lukhoi.

State Trinamool Congress would announce the first list of candidates very soon, party sources said adding that the name of Rabei, a senior member of the party, was not there.

Rabei said he would take up the matter with the party's central leaderships describing the non-inclusion of his name in the first list as 'unjustifiable.'

The Trinamool Congress has one seat, Konthoujam in West District, in the 60-member house.
