Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday said the Congress had better policies and programmes and asked the electorate to vote the party to power in Punjab.

Addressing poll meetings at Kurali and Kharar, he asked the people to evaluate performance of political parties on the basis of their policies, programmes, leaders and intentions.

The Congress would be their automatic choice, Hooda said adding Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is an able son of Punjab which is a matter of pride for the state.

The Congress had framed policies for all sections of society while the SAD-BJP alliance is bereft of ideas, he said.

Punjab is the elder brother of Haryana and it is indeed painful that the elder brother is lagging behind in all fields, he said.

Haryana was on 14th place in per capita investment before a Congress government took over and now it is at number one place, Hooda said.
