Punjab polls: SAD expels 8 rebels from party

Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday dismissed eight party rebels for contesting as Independents against SAD candidates in the state Assembly polls on January 30.

Those expelled from the primary membership of the party are Balwinder Singh Saifdipur from Ghanour, Rajinder Kala MC from Sanour, Youth leader Satbir Singh Khatra from Patiala rural, Manpreet Kaur Dolly from Derabassi, Daljit Singh Grewal Councillor from Ludhiana East, Jarnail Singh Kot Mehtab from Baba Bakala, Davinder Singh Lali Dhala from Tarnatarn and Bhola Singh Kamalpur from Dirba, party secretary Daljit Singh Cheema said.

He said the Deputy Chief Minister has also sacked Chairman Market Committee Mahal Kalan, Ajit Singh Kutba, for opposing party candidates in Mahal Kalan seat.
