Faridkot: An objection was today filed before the returning officer here that SAD candidate Deepak Malhotra who filed his nomination papers on January 10 was not a registered voter from this constituency.

Malhotra and his wife both are the voters at Delhi and the Delhi registration authority had given a written certificate that his other family members are still voters of Delhi reserve constituency, Madepur.

The objection was filed by one Jarnail Singh, who also submitted the certificate of the Delhi registration authority stating that Malhotra who was not a registered voter of Faridkot and of the state and could not file nomination papers thus.

Singh said Malhotra and his wife both applied for registration of their votes on January three, which was the last day and still the election commission has not decided so far on their registration.
