Bareilly: A case was on Monday registered against a BJP candidate from Pilibhit city seat and his aides for allegedly preventing a photographer of Election Commission from recording meeting of MP Varun Gandhi.

BJP candidate Satpal Gangwar took permission to hold a meeting of party leader Varun Gandhi at Venkat hall in the city, returning officer Naeem Hussain said.

He said that when videographer of the surveillance team of the commission reached the spot to record the meeting last night, he was prevented by the MLA and his aides.

The RO said that BJP leader and workers snatched the camera of the videographer, locked him inside a room and deleted the videos.

Hussain said that a case has been lodged against the BJP candidate Gangwar and his supporters in this connection.
