Hathras: A case has been registered against a BSP minister and SP nominee in two separate cases for allegedly violating the model code of conduct, officials said on Thursday. An FIR was lodged against Energy Minister Ramvir Upadhyay, contesting from Sikandra Rao Assembly seat, at Hayasan police station here yesterday when he along with his supporters allegedly campaigned in more than 10 vehicles and distributed pamphlets and calendars, they said.
In another incident, an FIR was registered against Sikandra Rao SP candidate Yashpal Singh for campaigning after 10 PM in the area.
Uttar Pradesh will go to polls spread over seven phases in February. PTI
