Ghaziabad: Two battalions of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Monday staged a flag march in Modinagar town ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

Police circle officer Nirankar Singh and SHO Modinagar Sanjay Tyagi led the march, SSP Raghubir Lal said, adding that a high alert has been sounded.

Flag marches were also staged in Ghaziabad and Sahibabad among other parts of the district, he said. Meanwhile, district magistrate Aparna Yu has directed the police to check that cash is accounted for by the holders during checking and is not seized in the absence of a magistrate.
