Ghaziabad: Anuradha Chaudhary, a former close aide of RLD chief Ajit Singh, who quit the party after he joined hands with the Congress, Thursday, attacked him saying he had got a Cabinet berth at the cost of farmers' welfare.
The newly appointed general secretary of Samajwadi Party said Singh no longer followed the ideology of his late father Chaudhary Charan Singh.
Chaudhary criticised Singh for not opposing the Congress when it failed to table an amended land acquisition bill which was supposed to help farmers. "Singh was in favour of getting a Cabinet berth at the cost of farmers' welfare," she said. Chaudhary asserted that SP and its leader Mulayam Singh Yadav fought for farmers' cause. She asked voters to support Raj Pal Singh Tyagi, who is contesting from Muradnagar constituency. He recently joined SP after being ousted from the cabinet by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.
